I have been teaching for 8 years for the instrumental music programs for grades 4-6. Instrumentation includes clarinet, flute, saxophone (alto and tenor), trumpet, trombone, baritone horn, and percussion. I focus on traditional beginning to concert band as well as elementary jazz. My experience and expertise is finding ways to teach instrumental music to students receiving pull-out music instruction only one day per week. My current assignment has me at 5 schools - one school per day. This means being creative and always finding and developing new ways to help students learn with limited instructional time!
My ultimate goal is to have students be happy and successful in their lives while using music as a platform to do so. At the end of the day, I want my students' lives to be enriched with the beauty of music and most of all, I want them to have fun learning!
