I have a M Ed. in Instructional Design and certification for teaching gifted and talented students. I currently teach Kindergarten but I have experience with Pre-K, K, 1st, and 2nd grades. I became a teacher after working as a journalist and freelance magazine writer for nearly 20 years.
I believe in teaching to all learning styles as much as possible. I incorporate whole brain methods throughout the day while using hands on instruction across the curriculum.

I have two children of my own - both all grown up now. One of my children has a learning disability in math but is also gifted. Both of my children have ADD - one with hyperactivity. I believe in looking deeply into all facets of a child because it is so easy to assume a child is not being cooperative when in fact they may be dealing with an issue they don't know how to handle.
