I am an eighth year teacher. I have taught in kindergarten and third grade general education classrooms and in inclusion, resource, and self contained special education classrooms. I focus on creating differentiated products that work for children with special needs and for differentiating in the primary classroom.
I believe that children learn through play and have a developmental approach to teaching. I have high expectations of each one of my students and work hard to reach them on their individual level so they can succeed. My classroom is a safe place where students can challenge themselves to do their best.
I am a proud North Carolina Teaching Fellow!
I graduated from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Child Development. I also completed the elementary education licensure program at Meredith and added on my special education license to work with children with disabilities. I completed my Masters of Education in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis at Endicott College. I also have my National Board Teaching Certification as an Exceptional Needs Specialist.
