I have a background in reading education and was fortunate to land my dream job after graduate school- I have been teaching first grade on an army base overseas for the past five years. I love having the opportunity to serve the military in some way while working with a wonderful, diverse bunch of kiddos!

I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Penn State University (We Are!) in 2008. After graduation, I worked in a preschool for about six months before starting a graduate program in Reading Education at the University of Pittsburgh. I earned my Reading Specialist certification and am currently working on a master's in Elementary Math through Western Governors University.
I have lived in Japan for the past five years and try not to take this adventure for granted! When I'm not working, I'm busy traveling to new places, climbing mountains, and hanging out with my new fiance:)
