I am in my 15th year of teaching. I have taught regular and special education students. Primarily, students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
I believe in making all educational experiences relevant to students' lives, so that they can draw meaning from what they have learned. When they learn something Best Teaching Moments. The correct answer is of course 'student progress.' Really good teachers, like myself, are the ones who genuinely care and are motivated by the students’ progress. It can be incredibly frustrating when you cover the same material numerous times and the students don’t seem to learn a thing, but on the other hand it can be very satisfying when a student perfectly delivers a phrase you taught them a few classes ago. Give yourself another pat on the back. I did!
