I'm an Australian Primary School Teacher who has worked in all grades of the primary school, but spent the most amount of time working in the junior and middle school levels. After taking my family leave to have my own three children, I spent time volunteering in an Autism charity group, where I was responsible for creating classroom resources that were supportive and inclusive of children with Autism and other special needs, and educating other teachers on how to create a classroom that catered to students with special needs.
I am super organised and well planned and love to create lessons that engage all children by using several different teaching styles in each lesson. I love to have many hands on and experiential opportunities, and use lots of visual aids to reinforce all that is explained, as well as the traditional written, listening and verbal experiences. I love my classroom to be a visually fun, engaging and interesting place and really enjoy creating resources that support those things - a lot of which you will see in my store!

I completed a four year Bachelor of Education-Primary at The University of Melbourne, in Melbourne, Australia.
During high school and my university education, I spent a lot of time working with children in different roles- my family were foster carers, I worked in 'after school care', as a swimming instructor, as a nanny, leading a team in holiday programs, and being an aide for a child with high level special needs. What I learnt in all of these varied experiences, that has been reinforced as a teacher, is that our kids all learn and experience life differently. For those with special needs, having a teacher who understands their challenges and can work with them and their families to put supports in place, changes school from a frustrating and frightening experience, into something that is safe and positive. And anything you put into place for a special needs child, is also going to support any number of other students who have their own personal challenges, that may not be as easy to recognise. Using resources like the ones I create, can change the way your classroom functions and using the 'visual' skills of our kids, will dramatically improve the way your students develop independence and understanding.
