I am currently in my 7th year teaching. I have taught 1 year in first grade and this is my sixth year in second grade. I teach reading, writing and phonics. I love being departmentalized because I get to focus on subjects that are dear to my heart.
I am slow and methodical! I'm not good at cute and fluffy. I secretly envy those who are. I love anchor charts, hands on learning and effective cooperative learning strategies. I try to create products that introduce a topic and then slowly build upon the concept until students have a deeper understanding and are able to independently apply what they have learned.

I am a Texas native. I graduated high school from North Mesquite High in Mesquite, Texas. I earned my Associates degree from Eastfield Community College while working full time as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Shortly after, I packed up my things and moved to Florida for a new adventure. I continued my college course work at the University of North Florida where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education.
I love Jesus, I wouldn't be where I am without him. My husband is amazing and has patience that exceeds any other adult that I have ever met. Parenthood is wonderful and exhausting! My girls are beautiful and when I look at their little faces I see God's work.
