For as long as I can remember I have wanted to become a teacher. My poor brother put up with endless days of playing school. As soon as I had my license and my own transportation I babysat every weekend I had available. While earning my teaching degree in college I worked at a preschool from four years. During student teaching I taught in a fifth grade classroom. Once I graduated in December I spent the remainder of the year in a long-term substitute position teaching second grade. I have taught in a third and fifth grade classroom.
I believe in giving students a safe and nurturing environment that supports their creativity and problem solving, while fostering students who become risk-takers and take ownership of their actions.
