I have taught math to grades 5-8 in Minnesota! I am currently in my tenth year of teaching.
I am an avid user of interactive notebooks. As part of my notebooks, students will take traditional notes as well as foldables and self-checking activities. These items when used in combination increase student understanding and engagement.
I was a member of the National Science Teachers Associations New Science Teacher Academy during the 2012-2013 school year.
I attended the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota where I graduated with majors in Elementary Education and French. I also Minored in Secondary Education. I received my M.Ed. in Learning Design and Technology from Saint Mary's University in Minnesota.
I grew up in Bloomington, MN. My first teaching jobs were in charter schools in Minneapolis. I am currently teaching in a charter school in St. Paul. I LOVE teaching and am constantly thinking of ways to improve my practice. Creating resources to improve the understanding of my students is a constant consideration in the development of my lessons.
