I have served in urban elementary schools for nine years. I starting teaching when I was quite young and got a unique hands-on experience as a TA and then as a lead teacher on an emergency license. I was a part of a turnaround school as well as two founding schools, one as a teacher coach and teacher and the other as a Dean of Students. I have my undergraduate in Urban Elementary Education, minors in English and Science. I have my Masters in Leadership and Innovation. I now serve as a teacher coach. I lead professional development for several schools throughout the city, and work with new teachers, and struggling teachers on effective strategies for building community, classroom management, adding rigor, effective incentive and consequences, etc.
Warm, Strict and Consistent. Because I love my students and want them to be successful I hold them extremely accountable and find ways to make learning fun in the process.
