TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm currently a kindergarten teacher at a Gifted and Academically Talented Magnet School in Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to this, I have worked as a Media Specialist, Technology Teacher, a Reading Recover Teacher, and taught multiple grade levels. My heart is with primary students, however! I love to instill a love of learning and connect with parents to provide a solid educational foundation. :)

MY TEACHING STYLE

Hmm....I'd have to say pretty unique and a bit offbeat! I plan one thing, but sometimes the kids lead me in another direction, as we explore topics that arise in class. I love movement, hands-on activities, and love singing and dancing with our favorite online videos to warm up for learning!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Teacher of the Year and....I should probably have these: * Stay Too Late and Need to Go Home Award * No Life During the School Year Award * Acts Like a Kindergarten Student Award * Don't Go on the Bouncy Slide and Sprain Your Wrist Again Award * Stop Trying to Capture Stray Kittens That Enter Your Class During Summer Cleaning and Then Bite Your Finger Award

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, Reading Recovery Training; Certification: Elementary Education, Primary Education, Media Specialist, ESE, and currently working on my Gifted Endorsement!
