I have taught professionally (grades K-6) for twelve years. I've worked for public and private schools, and I've taught lots of large and small homeschool classes!
While I am trained to teach in public elementary schools, I have found my passion with classical education. The wonderful literature, the amazing values and vocabulary, and timeless lessons and conversations that result have released a true love of learning and a hunger for wisdom in countless students that I've been blessed to meet and/or teach. I am still on fire for learning, and I hope to pass that on to every child that I can!
Nominated New Teacher of the Year for the school district Co-opened two (small but mighty!) Classical schools
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and Master's in Social Psychology before falling in love with little people and deciding to teach. While I was two classes shy of my full credential, my school district offered me a full-time, paid internship. I taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades for five years, then decided to classically homeschool our own two children. What a blessing! We all learned to fall in love with learning together. I have since taught many homeschool classes, and I've spent a great deal of time learning more about classical education. I helped to open two small- and successful!- part-time classical schools.
I am blessed to be a mom of two wonderful teens in Southern California. I'm also a teacher of many little ones! I teach part-time for a classical hybrid program, where I help parents along on their own homeschooling journey. I LOVE helping children to find and grow their gifts! They are each so different...and each so special.
