TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a special education teacher in a high school life skills program in an private therapeutic school setting following the Structured Teaching Model from the TEACCH curriculum for students with autism and other exceptional needs. I have past experience student teaching in a self-contained special education school for students with intellectual disabilities. I worked with a multi-needs elementary class as well as transition age students during my student teaching placements. Prior to student teaching and becoming a certified special education teacher, I was a special education inclusion paraprofessional for 3 years in a general education elementary school working in grades 1-4.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Following the Structured Teaching Model outlined by the TEACCH program to provide students with autism highly structured tasks that meet their individual needs.
