It is so important that your students understand the goal of each lesson. I made these, laminated them, and posted them in the front of my classroom. I write simple, kid-friendly, measurable objectives on them with erasable marker at the beginning

This chart is like the stop sign behavior chart, but it is even better because 3 colors does not give enough room for behavior correction. The students are given clothespins with their names on them, and they start on green every day. From there,

I made this to help my seventh grade class as we continually went through the steps of the writing process throughout the year. It was nice to have this to refer throughout a piece of writing that was being developed. Now that I teach 1st grade, I

I think it makes classroom jobs more fun when they have crafty names. Students would much rather be the Postmaster than the Paper Passer. I printed these on card stock and laminated them to last. The circles are for student names, which I write

This is a fun way to introduce the use of online sources to your class before beginning a research project. It will show your students which sources of information are credible and make them more aware of what information can be found in a URL.

These are really simple color posters that are great for primary classrooms. They are half sheets, which is great because they won't take up too much space on the wall. Enjoy! Included: red blue green black white orange yellow grey and

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This year I will begin my 8th year teaching, and I will be a 1st grade teacher. In the past, I have had the wonderful opportunity to teach kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 7th grade Social Studies and Language Arts. I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching children at all ages, but I am thrilled to be with first graders this year. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the rapid growth in foundational skills coupled with the infectious excitement our youngest students have for learning.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from the University of Montana (Go Griz!) with my BA in Elementary Education, and in 2011, I received my MA in Education from MSU-Billings with a specialty in Reading. In addition, I have been fortunate to participate in numerous professional workshops in Montana, Washington, and Oregon, which has allowed me to perfect my teaching craft and stay familiar with best practices in education, which include RtI, Common Core, PLCs, mentoring, and more.
