I have taught with a Texas School district adjacent to a large military base for 20 years. In that time, I have taught grades 2nd to 7th in public schools. I have also taught specialty enrichment classes in the areas of science, writing and art. My secondary middle school specialties were writing and history. I am talented and gifted certified. My current position is at an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme campus in our school district where we focus on integration and student led inquiries as well as the state curriculum. On my campus, I provide teacher educational mini-sessions such as the one for which I created this webpage: https://www.smore.com/x9mnw-reading-motivation.
My coworkers often refer to my teaching style as "lizified" and often come to me for ideas and inspiration. My learning experiences are student led, engaging, inquiry generated and project based. I tend to create new learning experiences each year rather than use anything that might have already been done because each year brings new, unique student needs. Each year I have learned new elements to add to my teacher tool bag and therefore want to enrich the students' learning experiences.
I was awarded as our Campus level Teacher of the Year for our district. I am the coauthor of two teacher resource books with a national educational publishing company (Creative Teaching Press). After ten years, these books continue to produce occasional sales. I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, split minor Social Studies and English from the University of Maryland, European Division. I also have a master's degree in Education with a Curriculum, Triple-Literacy focus from the University of Texas at Arlington. I recently acquired a second master's degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University.
I am an educator, published author, mom and Army wife. We have had a very full and interesting life, having lived in Europe for eleven consecutive, amazing years! My youngest is now in high school so I hope to get back to writing teacher resources, thus this TPT store. My husband and I enjoy traveling and keeping up with our high school varsity dance student's performances. My three older children are grown and on their own in various places around Texas and Oklahoma. Ehow Author: http://www.ehow.com/contributor/elizabeth_stover/
