Hello there! I've been working for the past 3 years developing my educational handouts repertoire. Listed are some of the most successful handouts and/or lesson plans that I have delivered and were received well by both students and parents.
I am a HUGE advocate of fostering imagination within the classroom, no matter the age of the student. As an Art teacher, I am continuously encouraging my students to seek out new ways of interpreting/creating visual information. I'm also a believer in utilizing Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences as a strategy for students to help them be more successful in their studies. Knowing the kind of learners you have in the classroom will help you tailor your teaching to maximize their learning potential. It will also empower your students when they discover why they learn better when they study a certain way before a test etc. The most important thing to me as a teacher is to be a life long learner. I believe that if you expect your students to WANT to learn, then you yourself need to share the same outlook.
I was honoured with the opportunity to work as an Artist in Residence at a local High school, during which time I worked collaboratively with students to create a large scale mural celebrating the Arts.
