I have taught upper elementary students for 12 years, and prior to that I was a paraprofessional working with first and second grade students with hearing impairments. I have taught all ages (infants through adults) in swimming lessons. This will be my first year in first grade, and although I have a lot to learn about the current curriculum, I feel my diverse background will help me bring something exciting to first grade!
I'm still learning how to be the best teacher I can be to the little ones. However, I've found that one thing they have in common with the big kids is activities that are actively engaging are the most fun and often the best way to help them learn.
I hold a master's degree in education from Lesley University.
When I take off my teacher hat, I am a loving wife, yearly traveler to England, and servant to two angry cats.
