I have been teaching for 10 years. 4 years in 2nd grade, 2 years in a multiage classroom (1st and 2nd grade), and the last four years I have been a Reading Specialist. I work with teachers and students to increase student achievement in all things Literacy!
Most of my teaching is done in small groups. I really enjoy working in small groups because I feel that I get to know my student better. I get opportunities to talk with them so that I can get to know them personally as well as academically. This helps me to teach the whole child!
2015-16 Teacher of the Year (county simifinalist)
I graduated from Georgia State University in 2006 with my bachelors in Early Childhood Education. Then I got my Master's in Post Secondary Education from Troy University in 2009 and my Specialist Degree in Teaching and Learning from Piedmont College in 2011.
I am a wife, a mother, and a teacher. I love spending time with my little family. I also love learning new things and sharing what I know with others. Check out my community outreach program, Sunset Stories. Sunset stories.weebly.com
