Alyson Pennington Reves graduated from Abilene Christian University in May of 2001 with a Bachelor of Science Degree and in 2003 with a Master of Science Degree for Communication Disorders. She began working in the fall of 2003 in the public schools as a SLP-CFY and doing home health therapy on the side. Alyson was licensed as a Texas SLP in 2004 and received a Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech and Hearing Association to practice speech-language pathology independently. In 2005, Alyson started Lonestar Speech Therapy, PLLC, a contract speech therapy company primarily working with home health agencies and public schools. Lonestar Speech Therapy, PLLC employees contract SLP- Assistants as well as Speech-Language Pathologists. The company has also partnered previously with Abilene Christian University to provide an internship for a student. Many students from Baylor University, Texas Women's University and Harding University in Arkansas have shadowed Alyson or other therapists with Lonestar, to gain observation hours for their degrees. Alyson believes strongly that if you have a passion and love for what you do every day, you will never work a day in your life.
Alyson believes in using all modes of teaching in speech therapy, including kinesthetic, auditory and visual techniques to reach all levels of learning.

At the 2013 annual Texas Speech and Hearing Association convention, Alyson presented "I Have My Degree! Now How Do I Do Therapy on a Budget?" for both ASHA and TSHA continuing education credit. Alyson also recently spoke at the 2014 TSHA Convention with a co-presenter, Jennifer Buhrmann, M.S., CCC-SLP, MT-BC. The topic was "That's My Bag: Must Have Supplies for Therapy".
