I love teaching and I have been working with children and in education for 17 years. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a major in Language Arts and a Master's Degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology. In addition, I also hold a Reading Endorsement. I am also Orton-Gillingham trained. For the past six years I have been teaching third grade in Florida. For the 9 years prior, I lived in Sydney, Australia where I taught grades 2-4 at the American International School Sydney. While in Australia, I also worked as the K-12 school guidance counselor. I have worked as a school guidance counselor in Brevard County, Florida as well as being employed as a private therapist for a toddler with Down Syndrome in Chicago.
My teaching is student-centered; focusing on meaningful, real world application of knowledge.
