This is one of my favorite resources to use in Social Studies, Science, and even Reading. The students will look at an image and determine who and what are in it, then infer what they are doing. It leads to great conversations in groups.

This resource aligned with Tennessee standards for Social Studies. It particularly goes with the first unit on the pacing guide. I use this handout as I am introducing these physical features, then they glue it in their interactive SS notebook.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I started my teaching career in a year long internship teaching 2nd grade. During that time, I learned about my love of creativity too! Since then, I have taught 4th grade and only continued to love learning new creative ways to teach my students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is fluid. I find it important to start the year with strong expectations and then require those same expectations with my students. I teach with fun, hands-on resources, and I don't like my students sitting for too long!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

This year I was nominated for Teacher of the Year. What an honor!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I went to college seeking a degree where I could make the "big bucks." After one year of misery, I realized that my calling in life is not money, but instead to teach. I returned to get my Master's degree in Elementary Education and I haven't looked back since!
