I have been a teacher for 7 years. I began teaching as a maternity leave substitute in 2nd grade and then in 4th. My first full-time job was as a 2nd grade teacher. After 2 years I followed my 2nd class to 3rd grade. In 2015, I taught middle school math and reading. I am currently teaching 4th grade.
My teaching style is similar to most teachers. I make sure my students are getting the knowledge they need while having fun. In any classroom, a variety of teaching strategies are needed. Group work, modeling, turn and talk, experimental centers, and our course teacher-guided instruction.
In 2014, my class received the 2nd highest standardized test scores in our school. In 2015, I became the teacher with the most amount of growth in student scores for standardized tests.
I graduated from Saint Xavier University in 2011 with my bachelors degree in education. In 2017, I graduated with my masters as a Reading Specialist.
