I currently teach kindergarten and have been teaching for 16 years (13 in kindergarten, 1 in 1st grade, and 2 as a literacy coordinator). I have also taught numerous staff development classes geared toward language arts.
My goal as a teacher is to create a love of learning within all of my students. I teach language arts based on the Literacy Collaborative framework (shared reading, guided reading, interactive writing, shared writing, interactive read-aloud, and word work). I integrate social studies and science concepts into our everyday lessons. I teach math hands-on using various manipulatives to help students grasp concepts.
