I am a middle school teacher (grades 4-9) licensed in ELA, Reading, and Social Studies! I have taught from 4th to 8th grade, so I have been at both the high and low ends of that range. I also have a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership. My passion is making students love to write. It is such a difficult skill, yet one of the most powerful. I spend a lot of my time showing my kids how to enjoy it, which is what I then put into my products.
I fully believe in real-world application. Why are students writing an essay? To learn how to function in life beyond school, plus college or career. I want students to apply what they know and make a difference. I frequently ask them how they can use specific mindsets and assignments to change the world. For example: after researching dog breeds, my students reached out to a local rescue and set up a donation drive for them! They even made posters about each dog in the rescue and hung them up in the community to try to get them adopted!

I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Middle Childhood Education, Language Arts/Reading and Social Studies. My Master's of Education comes from Wright State University. My capstone project centered around curriculum creation!
I live in Ohio with my husband, daughter, and Puggle! We love to spend time together, watch hockey, exercise, and relax. I also love to read and watch Netflix. We're currently binging Game of Thrones, though!
