I have been teaching for 20 years (mostly grades 4-6) and have taught in Colorado, Hawaii, Florida, Washington, Guam, and Japan. My husband works for the military, so we've lived all over the world. I've been fortunate enough to have taught the most resilient, welcoming, and worldly kids around.
I have a very structured teaching style. I believe that students feel the most comfortable when they know what to expect. I have high expectations and praise good work and behavior. I believe in keeping parents in the loop as much as possible.
I am so honored to have been able to teach for DoDEA (Department of Defense Education Activity) in both Japan and Guam. I was also a Captain in the US Army, Transportation Corps - stationed in Germany during Operation Desert Storm.
BA (Political Science-International Relations, German), MA (Curriculum & Instruction-emphasis Math & Science) MEd (School Counseling K-12, in progress)
I have an amazing husband, two kids, and a cat. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling the world, golf, jogging, and tennis. I also love watching HGTV's "Fixer Upper."
