I'm a relatively new teacher and am so excited that I've found my calling. I've been teaching elementary bilingual for five years in Dallas, Texas. This year I'll be an elementary At-Risk Support teacher in my new home of San Antonio and will get the awesome opportunity to work with children of all grade levels!
I believe in teaching children to be life-long learners. My teaching style is concept focused and I love to provide children with plenty of hands-on opportunities. My goal is to infuse children with the love of learning and to inspire them to take ownership of their education.
I have been blessed these past few years to have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young children. And recently, I've accepted a position to work as an At-Risk Support teacher. I'm very excited to take this new step in my career as an educator, and look forward to continuing to grow professionally.
I received my undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Dallas. I decided to pursue a career in education after my wife (who is also a teacher) suggested I had a knack for explaining new concepts. I was accepted into an alternative certification program not long after that and I haven't looked back! I can honestly say that I love my job and can't wait to see what the future has in store for the rest of my career.
My name is Isaac and I have a turtle named Lucky. I've had him since about age seven. I think he's going to outlive me! Recently I was given permission to have him as a classroom pet and boy do children love turtles! He loves children as well. He gets very excited when anyone goes near his aquarium and will swim around following the children's every move. I've used him in several lessons since I've had him in class and have used him as a way to motivate and engage students in my class. This is why I decided to use him as the "mascot" for my TpT store. We make a great team together!
