My lessons engage and encourage my students to be independent, critical thinkers and problem solvers. I incorporate learning targets, criteria for mastery, strong and weak models of work, think aloud models to explicitly teach the skill/standards, the gradual release process, and ending my lessons with student reflection and self assessments. Students are engaged in rigorous learning centered around relevance to their lives.
