TEACHING EXPERIENCE

10 years teaching K-4 General Music, 1 of those years was K-8 and 1 was K-6. I've taught Gr 4 chorus (70-100 students) for 9 years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have 2 levels of Orff-Schulwerk training, and integrate that with the work of John Feierabend.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I've presented professional development to teachers numerous times in my own district, once at Bridgewater State University (2014), and at the Massachusetts Music Educators Association All State Conference (2015).

The district where I teach is in its 4th consecutive year as a "Best Community for Music Education" per the NAMM Foundation.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have been trained in both First Steps in Music and Conversational Solfege Levels 1 and 2 by John Feierabend himself, and have led staff development in my district for both methods.

I have a BM in Music Education and a MAT in General Music

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I'm incredibly passionate about new-teacher development and have mentored 8 student teachers from 4 different universities, as well as developing a program for 1 high school senior going into music education who wanted a head start.
