I have over 12 years experience in teaching grade 8 English in a large, diverse middle school. I have been on curriculum committees over the past few years and have worked to realign our curriculum with that of the Common Core, focusing many of my lessons on Common Core standards. I have also served on grading committees, curriculum committees, instructional support collaboratives, mentor new teachers, and on the Faculty Council for the National Junior Honor Society.
I tend to "mix it up" quite a bit. I like to make sure that all four domains (speaking, listening, writing, and reading) make an appearance in every class!

I earned an undergraduate degree from Franklin Pierce College (now University) in American Studies with a concentration in English and a certification in Elementary Education K-8 in 2005. I completed a Master of Arts in Teaching English from Salem State College (now University) in 2009. I then received a Master of Education in Reading from Salem State University in 2012.
I love spending time with my husband and two children, reading, cooking, and pretending to be crafty!
