I am in my 14th year of Elementary Education. While in college, I taught at Child Developement Centers, and worked as a nanny for 5 years. Since earning my Bachelor's degree, I've taught half day and full day kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 5th/6th Grade Social Studies. I have worked in Christian and public schools, and mostly low-income schools that are Title 1. Kindergarten is where my heart is!
My teaching style is mostly small-group centered based instruction. My passion in the classroom is Phonemic Awareness and teaching kids how to read.

The exciting thing about kindergarten is that many of the kids come with a "blank slate". The growth that many of the kids make is outstandingly obvious because they often go from not knowing any letters to reading and writing simple sentences in 10 months.
