I have been teaching high school Spanish and French for 10 years in Michigan. I have taught levels 1-3 in Spanish and Levels 1-4 in French as well as Spanish culture courses and general humanities courses.
My current district uses the Discovering French series for levels 1-3 and a variety of resources for French 4. My former district used the textbook series, Realidades. However, we also used the TPRS curriculum by Blaine Ray and Melinda Forward's Spanish curriculum in the past with our students. I am familiar with both textbook and comprehensible input methodologies and work hard to continuously evaluate our curriculum to better meet the needs of our diverse student population.

I attended Central Michigan University and received a B.S. in Secondary Education with a major in French and a minor in Spanish. While at CMU, I studied in Angers, France for a semester. I also have my Masters in the Art of Teaching degree from Marygrove College. I am trained and certified to teach AP Spanish and French through attendance at the Advanced Placement Summer Institute for Spanish Language and Culture held each summer in my district.
I love traveling and have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to lead two student trips to France and Spain in the past five years. I will be leading my third trip to France during spring break of 2015.
