I have been teaching ESL and French for 11 years at the high school level. I have also taught classes for ESL at the local community college. Currently I am a member of my high school leadership team, in order to improve school climate.
My approach to teaching is that I want my students to leave as good human beings. I treat them fairly, with a lot of kindness and trust, until they prove they can't handle it. I tell them from the beginning that while I would love for them all to use French in their future careers etc., I care far more that they learn to expand their minds and step outside of the narrow box they are used to living in.
