I graduated in Mexico in 1984. While living in Mexico, I taught Spanish and Literature in Secondary Level and worked as an Assistant Principal in private schools. When I came to the United States in 2000, I stared working in Early Childhood Development in Cedar Hill, TX in a program called Even Start. In this program I worked closely with infants, and toddlers helping them develop their fine and gross motor skills with several hands-on activities. This program also included classes for the parents to help them create material and activities for their child to work at home and improve their skills. The last 9 years I have been working with Prekindergarten, Kindergarten, and First Grade students in Bilingual Education.
Each day I come to work I make sure my classroom is ready to receive my students. Having high expectations for my students is my style of teaching. This comes from the vision of not focusing on their deficiencies but rather on using their strengths to give them the boost to continue developing more and better abilities. My job as a teacher goes from the smallest of details that could come along, such as coloring inside the lines, to developing critical thinking skills through analysis and synthesis, developing their problem-solving skills and helping them develop into better, conscientious citizens. My style of teaching is based on teaching methods and the commitment that I have made to forge them into successful men and women.
