TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 10+ years as a language educator and have worked with a wide range of students from elementary to college level.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My lessons are created with the intention of being student focused. I try to include practice with the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking in each of my lessons. Due to the fact that ELLs come with a diverse background and skill set, the curriculum is intended to be accessible for all students regardless of their background or highest level of educational attainment. The reading passages are created by using simplified vocabulary and words that are cognates in Spanish/ Romance languages. With that being said, lessons are intended for learners of all languages. The focus of all lessons are to prepare students to be career and college ready. That may be evident in text complexity or to help students build their stamina with regard to reading lengthy passages or by activating prior knowledge to help create connections.
