TEACHING EXPERIENCE

One year of teaching 7th and 8th grade, one year of teaching 10th grade, and four years of teaching 9th grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Why bore students with "academic" literature for the sake of it? Students are more apt to learn if you choose meaningful texts they can relate to/enjoy reading. A lot of my lessons are discussion based because I believe those that do the most talking are doing the most learning. I'm always trying to think "outside of the box" to come up with lessons that impact students and allow them to see the connection between the literature they are reading and what they personally going through.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Graduated Magna Cum Laude from UAFS in 2009. Received an award for ACT Aspire ELA Growth for 2017-2018.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor's in English with Teacher Licensure (7-12) Currently pursuing Masters in English.
