Building relationships with students, in my opinion, is the most important part of teaching. Through fostering these relationships and providing meaningful activities, students can learn and enjoy English class.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

11 years teaching mostly 9th grade and several years of 10th grade

MY TEACHING STYLE

I tend to like to give my students a lot of guidance prior to reading a novel and help them follow the characters and plot while reading so that they truly understand the story. I also really emphasize theme and summary after reading. We do group work at times when appropriate, but when I'm introducing something new, I like to make sure they have the tools and information they need to be successful.
