TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am entering my 5th year of teaching 5th grade. In my second year of teaching I was asked to be part of a two person team to develop/create math curriculum and resources for our district during a time of transition between our old curriculum and the exploration of new, Common Core aligned, curriculum. This experience in combination with my graduate education have led me to appreciate math on a whole new level!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that having a well organized classroom with established routines and procedures is key to all student's success. I tend to be a little more strict than many of my coworkers and have very high expectations of my students.

I am a LIFETIME lover of learning and like to say that I would be a lifetime student if someone else would pay for it. Teaching is a second career for me. I spent 13 years in business before returning to get my education degree. I have ZERO doubt that education is where i belong!!
