For my career, I am a special education teacher. My current caseload includes students with academic struggles in grades 4th-6th, and students with social/behavioral struggles in grades Kdg-6th. I have working in the past with students struggling with academics in grades Kdg-6th. My life experiences include, but are not limited to being a Christian, a wife to a wonderful Law Enforcement Officer, a mom to 3 rowdy & amazing girls, an oldest sister to 1 brother (7 years younger) & 1 sister (9 years younger) & several foster siblings in the past, a daughter to an amazingly talented single mom, a cheerleading coach (both junior & senior high levels), and an adult that has dealt with her own unique ADHD & anxiety struggles.
My passion is first building the relationships with students, then teaching them social, behavioral, life, and academic skills! It is my firm belief that if you can't connect with your students, you will not be able to teach them. I have ALWAYS loved to read & I want to also share that passion with all students!! I am pretty laid back in my classroom, but I have high standards & expectations for any and all students in my classroom, building, district, and community (including my own daughters)! I also use my own personal experiences & situations when teaching my students. For example, I am a HORRIBLE speller so I can share my tips & tricks for spelling certain words. When I mess up, I apologize and immediately use it with my students.

I received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education from Fort Hays State University. I have completed some graduate courses, but still have not decided exactly what I want to be when I finally grow up, but I know where my passion is and will continue to learn and grow to help students!
I have had a hard time finding just what I am looking for most of the time, so I have created a lot of resources with a combination of inspiration from others and my own crazy imagination!
