I have been a professional Cosmetologist for 34 years. I LOVE the Hair Business! I have been an avid learner of my industry, investing in Continuing Education annually. I have been a Cosmetology Instructor for 15 years. It has always been my desire to continue to educate myself and invest my knowledge in student’s desiring to pursue Cosmetology. Teaching has been the joy of my life. It has truly been a blessing to me and I believe I have been a blessing to my students.
I am a Career & Technical Education Teacher and my teaching style is Student-Teacher Centered. My classroom instructional approach is to create lessons and assignments that encourage students to work together, develop critical thinking skills, as they develop skills they will use to gain employment in Cosmetology. I engage my students with hands-on activities as they learn a variety of Cosmetology techniques, such as haircutting, hair wrapping, manicures, acrylic nails facial makeup and tons of VOCABULARY! Most of off, I endeavor to be a role model worthy of their admiration. I have learned that the most important aspect of my job is showing genuine love and concern for my students, in and outside of the classroom. I may speak the only encouraging words they hear on a daily basis.
