TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Thanks for stopping by my store! I have a close-up knowledge of early literacy, having helped over 100 children learn to read and write. I use this experience, along with my love of language and words, to create materials for beginning readers. My time as a reading specialist, Special Education teacher, and classroom teacher taught me to create simple materials with minimal distractions. I also try to make each activity as productive as possible on many levels. My activities are never busy work! Find out more about me at my website, Many Roads to Reading.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching approach is both highly structured and individualized. When lessons are consistent in design, the student knows what to expect and can therefore focus better on learning, with a minimum of stress. The predictable framework of my lessons fosters independence and a sense of competence in the student. Having received training and practice in a variety of techniques, I am able to choose the best approach or combination of approaches for each student. My love of words and language permeates my teaching and writing.
