Primary school teacher for 13 years; Editor of NZ School Journal (a reading resource supplied by the Ministry of Education to all NZ schools) for 13 years; Contracted to develop reading resources for Pacific Island countries (10 years); Currently writing and publishing books aimed at slow-to-start and remedial reading boys.

Tactile and experiential. Most children, and especially boys struggling with reading, learn best when they can touch and do what they are reading about.
