This lesson will be the introduction to osmosis. The students will be divided into pairs. Each pair will be given a slice of eggplant and some salt. Students will sit at lab stations of four people to a station. They will have a discussion with
Formative Assessment/ Pre-Assessment- Earth Science- Students observe a variety of rocks (igneous, metamorphic, sedimentary). Based on their observations, they will predict which rocks were taken from similar environments and explain their reasoning.
Students will record whether or not they play a sport. Then, students will find their resting, active, and recovery heart rates. Finally, students will calculate the class average to determine whether or not playing a sports affects one’s heart rate.
Students will think about what makes up the parts of an elephant. They will start from the chemical level and work their way up to the organism. They will draw and label each level and number them from least to most complex.
