I'm teaching my second year of teaching Physics (2017-2018) . I tutored for 2 years before getting my teaching license, so I have a pretty wide range of experience working with multiple subjects, including the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program. I also spent two summers leading/assisting with SCOPE camps, a local special education program for gifted students' enrichment. I also led two other camps, Girls Rock Science and Expanding Your Horizons, during my senior year at WSU.
I like to teach using current events and student-led instruction as much as possible. I use hands-on labs to teach important Physics concepts and my students often conduct their own experiments to answer a given question. For concepts that are hard to see in real life, like molecular interactions, I like to use online simulation experiments.
Magna Cum Laude WSU Dean's Scholar WSU Emory Lindquist Honor Society High School Valedictorian
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wichita State University with a Bachelor's degree in Education with an emphasis on Physics. I have taken the PRAXIS in physics and received a score of 152. Before that I graduated as Valedictorian from my high school.
I have a black cat named Pizza, she's absolutely the best. I love music, well, listening to it anyway, I have no talent in that category. I spend my free time watching Netflix and occasionally advocating with the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Topeka and Washington, DC, for the right to health care.
