I've taught for 20 years, chairing an English department, achieving ELA National Board Certification, and conducting professional development for the state of California. I am the co-author of Lola Zola (www.lolazola.com) and the Lemonade Crush, a tween novel about an 11-year old who sells lemonade when her parents are laid-off. Currently, I teach government in South Los Angeles where I engage my students in role-playing and simulations. Follow me on twitter @marcywinograd or @tweenorama
I am a believer in hands-on thematic activities that involve multiple intelligences and cooperative group work. I use writing frames and scaffolding to help my students succeed.
