In this unit students read personal narratives learning how to draw on comprehension strategies to understand. They use mentor texts to understand how the genre works as well as to lift text for language investigations and ultimately write their own
This 6 session module is intended for teachers to use with students to better prepare them for the genre of computer adaptive assessments (specifically MAP). The sessions aim at explaining why these assessments matter and how they can do their best.
This last session is intended to be done upon completion of MAP assessment to help students debrief and for the teacher to gather feedback about what the students perceived was easy and what they had difficulty with to help them with goal setting.
