TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I can hardly believe it, but I am in my 10th year of teaching! I was a 3rd grade teacher for two years in Gwinnett County, GA, and a 4th grade teacher for one year at an international school in Abu Dhabi, UAE (Middle East). Currently I am in my 4th year teaching 4th grade in an urban public school district in the Boston, MA area.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in differentiating to allow students of all learning styles and backgrounds to excel. There is no silver bullet (wouldn't it be great if there were?) Instead, it is all about designing learning experiences that provide ways for every student to access and engage with the content. That said, many of the products I design are meant to streamline the classroom management process. My feeling is the more I can minimize time spent on non-instructional tasks, the more time is available for learning. I love routines, procedures, forms, checklists, and labels--anything to get and stay organized!
