I am currently teaching middle school math grade 8 and math intervention for grade 6-8. Before this I taught elementary for 13 years. I have taught 15 years and counting so far. I have been at both title and non-title schools. At the elementary level I have been a classroom teacher for grades 1,2, and 5. I have done small groups with grades K-5 as a teacher and MTSS Facilitator/Instructional Coach. I have also had additional roles of assessment coordinator, AVID site coordinator, after school tutor coordinator, latchkey teacher, Site Technology Specialist, team leader, and mentor.
Holistic teaching is what I strive for everyday in my classroom. I view my students as people and get to know them and build a relationship with them in order to help them learn. I incorporate hands on learning and total participation techniques in order to have class be lively and a place to grow.
