Whilst studying my degree in Classical Philology, I started out as a private tutor, Málaga, Spain, teaching Latin and Ancient Greek to high school students and to university students. The positive impact I had on my students took passion, great focus and determination to graduate in Education in London with a specialization in both secondary education and Latin and Spanish language teaching. Since then, I have taught in different contexts and educational settings and run private language lessons of Spanish and Latin in the UK. I have also participated in learning projects and didactic resources to motivate students in learning Ancient Greek and Latin at the University of Málaga, Spain, and I have worked to support children, young people and adults learners who wished to learn not only the Spanish language, but also about Spain and the Spanish speaking-world at The Instituto Cervantes in London. At the present time, I live in Newmarket, near Cambridge (England - UK) and I teach Spanish in a Montessori Nursery School, I run 5 Spanish after-school clubs in Primary Schools and I teach Spanish to adult learners privately as well as prepare students from the UK for their school examinations, including DELE Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language. All of this is always something that I enjoy and look forward to.
When teaching a foreign language the communicative approach is the way to success. Using mainly the target language, my aim is always to make a balance across the four skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. I try to use as many authentic materials from a variety of different Spanish-speaking countries as possible so that my students are prepared to interact with a wide range of speakers from different countries and deal with different accents. I believe that Internet has a positive impact on language learning and, therefore, media is a powerful tool in my classroom.
Yet to be added
I am a Spanish national and passionate about teaching languages. I graduated in Classical Philology at University of Málaga, Spain, completed my Master’s Degree in Secondary, Professional and Further Education and Language Teaching in Madrid, Spain, and trained specifically to teach Spanish as a Foreign Language at The Instituto Cervantes and University of Roehampton in London. I am an accredited DELE examiner too.
By Spanish language teaching, my expertise lends itself to enabling individuals to communicate and express their ideas and thoughts in the target language through understanding, speaking, reading and writing, and also to equipping them to handle any situation in the future as individuals and social agents by developing a range of competences, both general and in particular communicative language competences. In preparing individuals for DELE and children for school examinations, IGCSE/GCSE, A-Level and 13+ Common Entrance, I exude energy and passion every step of the way. I taylor my style to suit a full range of ability, promoting an effective learning environment for each individual. I do everything possible to maximize potential in my tutees.
