I have primarily taught 5th grade for 4 years, 6th grade for 4 years, and 3rd grade for 21 years. I am extremely dedicated to having every student sense that they are making significant progress in reading and math. I love school. My own kids have hounded me to pass on all the great ideas so your classroom can be a delight.
I strongly believe in teaching with games to have paper-free quality teaching during the day. I like being structured and organized, so we can have more fun. We work hard and play hard, but the students can't always tell the difference when I make the work fun. Around my school I am known as the "game teacher." There are whole class teaching games, free time games, a new class game on the bulletin board every month, and unusual birthday party games. I think school should be fun and interesting for the student!
I have been invited to teach at our school conventions a number of times in different subject areas.
Stanford University and San Jose State University
Besides substituting in preschool, I developed curriculum for Pre-K.
