I have been teaching Russian to Russian-English bilingual children in Canada since 2015. Before that, I wrote a Ph.D. dissertation and a number of articles on bilingualism and heritage languages, including Russian in Canada. At my Wonder Heritage Language Centre, I offer Russian lessons (and plan to add other languages) and workshops, consultations, support programs for parents of bilingual children.
My teaching methods are informed by current research on bilingual/multilingual children and heritage language learning. I like to use games, and constantly create new ones. In my lessons, I integrate Russian language, literature, history and culture.
